Our Racetrack

I-64 Motorplex was established in 1988 as Bluegrass Raceway. Our name has changed and we are dedicated to offering a great place to race.

The 1/8-mile track sits in the rolling hills with an elevation of 692 feet. Additionally, our IHRA-affiliated track is situated between I-64 on one side and a peaceful tree-line creek on the other.

There is a grassy area to park as well as paved parking. For your added convenience, 90 of the paved spots have access to electricity and allow racers to park their vehicles overnight.

Under New Ownership

n May 2012, Tim Baldridge became the owner of the local racetrack. Since then, Tim and his team have worked to create a family-oriented atmosphere, while giving racers throughout the area a safe place to show off their skills.

New state of the art Accutime timing system was installed spring 2013.

High Costs of Transportation

At I-64 Motorplex, we understand that there are high costs associated with transportation. In order to help you, we rearranged the test and tune-up time schedule, which is now Saturday morning on regular race days. This gives you the chance to strut your stuff in front of the 500-seat spectator stand, without making unnecessary trips.

In addition to making the traveling costs low, we keep the entry fees for the races low as well. The entry fee for a regular race is only $50. Spectators can enjoy a fun-filled day in the stands for only $10, while children 12 years old and younger enjoy the show for free.

Meeting Your Needs

For your convenience, you can find a variety of VP Racing fuels and other essentials to keep your car performing its best before, during, and after the big race. With these key maintenance necessities, such as gas jugs, oil, window chalk, and more available at your fingertips, there's no need to worry. Various fuel grades are available, including: 110  113   • Q16  Late Model Plus   • C16  Alcohol & More

After the Race

Once the race is over, why not bring your friends and family to a bonfire to celebrate the day? Often, I-64 Motorplex holds bonfires after the day's races, where you can sit back, relax, and roast some tasty hot dogs or marshmallows.

Monster Bash & Championships

At I-64, we want to end the year with a bang, which is why our Summit SuperSeries winners will represent our track in the IHRA team finals. Finally, the year ends with the Terry Butcher Memorial, Monster Bash, and Junior Dragster Event.
